Read these lines quickly and hurry to get your PlayStation 5 if you have the chance. The reason? The demo of Final Fantasy XVI is now available to download from the PlayStation Store. Square Enix‘s highly anticipated video game had an event last night, a show where among all the information provided, the most relevant announcement was the release of this demo.

According to the Japanese company, this playable demo brings significant innovations. The first and most relevant one: everything we play will be saved for when Final Fantasy XVI is released on June 22nd. In other words, your progress will be saved so you don’t have to replay everything you’ve already played. This way, your inventory and level will remain unchanged when you get the game in two weeks.

This playable prologue will last approximately two hours and will serve to see the start of the story. However, when we finish it, the second surprise of the demo comes: we will have access to the Special Battle Demo. Behind this name lies another playable demonstration where we can engage in combat over and over again. The idea is for players to try out the new existing combat system, get used to the controls, and enjoy the new experience.

As for progress in this battle arena, there will be no possibility to save the game. Therefore, it doesn’t matter what we do or how far we get, as nothing will carry over to the final game.

The Final Fantasy XVI event lasted over 5 hours and featured members of the development team as protagonists. During the broadcast, they commented on development details and how it has been approached.
