Twilight has marked an entire era. The generation of teenagers who grew up with Harry Potter soon fell in love with Edward Cullen – or Jacob – and experienced firsthand what it was like to be a vampire who glows, falls in love and has a deformed baby with a human.

Okay, don’t kill me Twilight fans. I know Stephanie Meyer’s saga is so much more than that. But, as much as it pains us, what has remained after all this time is just that: the idea that Twilight is a collection of memes and embarrassing moments.

So, in case you don’t quite remember what I’m talking about, here are some of the most embarrassing memes and moments from the saga. Of course, there are many more, but with this summary you will get an idea.

5 Best Edward Cullen Gifs! | Crepúsculo, Crepúsculo edward, Crepusculo filme

The first meeting between Bella and Edward

The first movie has moments of all kinds, but certainly the encounter between Bella and Edward is one of the most embarrassing. With a pair of wings behind Edward, they both look at each other in the most intense way possible, Bella sniffs in case it is his body odor, both tremble at the sight of each other… we don’t know if there is chemistry between the protagonists, but physically there certainly is.

Edward shines!

This in the book was weird, but in the movie it became the most ridiculous thing ever seen on a movie screen up to that point. The menacing, shadowy, bloodthirsty creature that is Edward demonstrates to his crush/victim that he is a vampire… by glowing. Anyway, if this isn’t meme fodder, let me know.

Edward and his mania for watching Bella sleep

This must be a strange philia, but in Twilight they pass it off as something romantic. Since Edward is a vampire and vampires don’t sleep, at night he watches Bella while she’s sleeping. Because of course, there’s nothing better than knowing that you have a vampire watching you all night long to help you fall asleep better.

“I am hotter than you”

In Eclipse, one of the most embarrassing scenes of the franchise appears. Once the love triangle is established, Bella is freezing to death and Edward can’t keep her warm because… vampires are cold. So Jacob walks up to her and drops a line that makes him even colder: “I’m hotter than you”. That’s how you say it, little wolf.

I’m a fat house cat… best wedding song ever?

This went unnoticed by many, but in the wedding scene between Bella and Edward plays a song that, although it may seem cute, becomes very rare for the moment. The song is Flightless Bird, American Mouth, and its verse literally says “I am a fat house cat”. What do they mean by this?

Jacob gets naked in the woods with Bella’s father

A rather ridiculous (yet funny) scene is when Jacob decides to explain to Charlie, Bella’s daddy, that he is a werewolf and everything about vampires and legends is real. As if it were a cruising scene, twink Jacob gets completely naked under daddy Charlie’s watchful eye.

Pederastic? wolf

Since Stephanie Meyer had a hard time unraveling the love triangle between Bella, Jacob and Edward, she decided to go off on a tangent: make Jacob fall in love with their daughter. AHHH I’m being told through my earpiece that it’s not falling in love, it’s priming. Ok… but it’s still pretty weird, really.

Reneemonster

And speaking of Reneesme – what an ugly name, I can’t get over it – what about her looks? In a very strange decision on the part of the CGI section of the film, they made the baby as ugly as possible. If they wanted her to grow up quickly, it was as easy as casting several actresses… but they decided to go digital and LOL.
