Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. EVERY1, a conceptual electric car that will become a production model in 2027, with an estimated price of 20,000 euros (less than 22,000 dollars).
This new vehicle positions itself as the entry model within the brand’s line of electric vehicles, which also includes the successful ID.4, which is selling so well now in the United States and Europe.
The ID. EVERY1 is part of an ambitious plan by Volkswagen to expand its range of BEV (battery electric vehicles), which includes the introduction of the ID.2all and an SUV variant.
9 electric models for 2027
It is expected that the range will be completed with a total of nine new models by 2027, all designed for the European market. This new approach marks a significant shift for Volkswagen, which has faced challenges in the past, particularly related to software development in its electric vehicles.
According to the brand’s CEO, Thomas Schäfer, the ID. EVERY1 will be essential to offer a wide selection of electrified models, aiming to position Volkswagen as a leader in technology and sales volume by 2030.
This model is part of the new ‘Family of Electric Urban Cars’, designed specifically for Europe and that will leverage the technology of the manufacturer’s MEB platform.
One of the most interesting aspects is that the production version of the ID. EVERY1 will introduce a new software architecture, which could be developed in collaboration with Rivian, given the recent $5.8 billion partnership agreement between both companies. Although it has not been officially confirmed, this technological advancement represents a crucial step for Volkswagen’s success in the competitive electric vehicle market.
Volkswagen plans to offer a more detailed view of its new ‘Electric Urban Car Family’ in the fall, including the ID. EVERY1 and the ID.2all, as it moves towards its goal of making electric cars an affordable option for everyone.
