The first trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire premiered this weekend, and we’re happy to say it looks like another fascinating, albeit absurd, action-packed monster movie. The new series is a marvel.
The fifth film in Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse franchise, one of the most anticipated of 2024, will see the titans team up for the second time (if we consider the end of Godzilla vs. Kong) to combat a new and threatening menace. By the way, this Apple TV+ series is perfect.
Logically, the first teaser of the movie doesn’t reveal much from the plot perspective. Nonetheless, based on the footage shown, we have some ideas about certain aspects of the story.
Synopsis of the highly anticipated new movie of King Kong and Godzilla
To start, we get a good look at the movie’s villain. Dubbed as King Scar, this simian titan is believed to be an ancient foe of Kong’s ancestors. It appears he’ll pose a formidable challenge for both Kong and Godzilla, meaning they’ll have to team up to thwart King Scar’s attempt to dominate Earth.
Speaking of Godzilla, there’s a new shine to his upcoming cinematic appearance. We see the iconic kaiju encased in ice in a moment from the trailer, but soon enough, he breaks free from his icy cocoon sporting a new pinkish appearance. Oh, and his atomic breath is pink too, suggesting he’ll be even more powerful than before.
There are many more clues suggesting that the movie will address some of the big questions from the previous films, offering a potential glimpse into the franchise’s future.
Regarding the first point, we see that King Scar has left the imprint of a giant red hand on a structure in the Hollow Earth (the underground world where the titans originate).
We’ve also seen similar prints in “Kong: Skull Island” and “Godzilla vs. Kong,” so is King Scar responsible for them? If so, did he leave them as warnings for other titans, indicating his intent to return?
And considering that one of these tracks is found in Kong’s former home on Skull Island, is Scar King responsible for the death of Kong’s family?
We’ll know everything for sure when Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire hits theaters worldwide on April 12, 2024. The anticipation for the movie just keeps growing.
