We already know what the first update of Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will bring

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has had the most disastrous start in the entire franchise. Despite its enormous sales success (as expected from this series), the new title by Sledgehammer Games has been heavily criticized for the apparent low quality (and length) of its campaign mode, as well as for having a multiplayer mode that barely differs from its predecessor, Modern Warfare II.

But Activision isn’t willing to let bad reviews harm the brand of one of the best-selling video game franchises in history. Just a few days ago, they announced the new content coming in the upcoming update for Season 1 of Modern Warfare 3.

To start with, the company has teased in a blog post that the update will include three new multiplayer maps:

  • Carne (6v6): “Become the top butcher in the block in this compact map centered around East Bay Meats slaughterhouse.”
  • Greece (6v6): “Prove you’re not just an ordinary mortal in this medium-sized map inspired by the Mediterranean and based on a coastal city.”
  • Rio (6v6): “Enjoy vibrant colors, tight spaces, and elegant streets in a battle for a luxury shopping mall.”

The new update also brings back one of Call of Duty fans’ favorite game modes, Gunfight. The first announced 2v2 map for this mode, Training Facility, will debut in Season 1, although it might not be the only one arriving with the update.

Lastly, Season 1 of Modern Warfare III also brings us a new chapter of the Zombies mode, which includes new content:
