Not everything is about starring in prestigious series and not suffering at all, right? The filming of the third season of The White Lotus has been marked by intense heat conditions, which has not been so easy for the cast, especially during intimate scenes. Jason Isaacs, who plays Timothy Ratliff, a business magnate concerned about secrets that could affect his family, has said that “At the end of each day, we were smeared with sweat and makeup. You could peel your clothes off with a stick”.

This discomfort has been confirmed by other team members, including the creator and showrunner Mike White, who described the filming conditions as “really very hot”. Michelle Monaghan also expressed that it was “the greatest heat I have felt in my life”.
The new season will be set in Thailand and is expected to address death in various Eastern religions, providing a deep satire on the subject. The contrast between the settings of previous seasons – which began in Hawaii and continued in Sicily – with this new location highlights the anthology approach of the series. This batch of episodes also marks a return for Natasha Rothwell, from the first season, who is the only star returning in this installment.
The recently released trailer shows Ratliff, Isaacs’ character, dealing with the anxiety of his secrets being revealed, which could put his family at risk, consisting of Parker Posey, Sam Nivola, and Sarah Catherine Hook. Additionally, actor Sam Nivola compared this season to the last, noting that there were more parties in the previous one, while in this one, the extreme heat has made it difficult to enjoy any activity. “It’s so hot that it’s hard to drink or do anything that dehydrates you”, he added. We’ll have to see if it’s really that bad on February 16, when it premieres!
