In June 2023, during the Xbox Games Showcase, the development team of The Banner Saga at Stoic Games revealed their upcoming title, Towerborne, for the first time.
Along with Ara: History Untold, it is one of the few games published by Microsoft that is not being developed by one of its first-party teams. In August, a playable demo of the game could be seen at Microsoft’s Xbox booth during Gamescom.
Since then, there has been very little information about the status of Towerborne, but that should change very soon. Stoic has announced that they will hold their first streaming event about the game on their Twitch channel on Thursday, March 7th at 5:00 PM Eastern time.
What will we see on Twitch tomorrow, March 7th
Stoic states that their CEO, Trisha Stouffer, their Creative Director, Arnie Jorgensen, and their Game Director, Daniel McLaren, will attend the Twitch livestream.
The announcement states that, among other things, team members will talk about the artistic direction and design of the game Towerborn. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to the development team and there will also be an “exclusive gift during the livestream”.
Towerborne will be an action and adventure side-scrolling game, set in a fantasy world where the land is invaded by monsters. Players will be able to fight these creatures alone or with up to three friends. Stoic promises to offer seasonal updates to the game after its release to discover new locations and fight against new monsters.
For now, Towerborne will be released at some point in 2024 on PC and Xbox platforms, and it will be a Day One release for Xbox Games Pass subscribers. Stoiic also offers the possibility to play early with their own Insider Program. You can sign up to be selected to play the game on their official website.
