Today, Nintendo has revealed the financial results for the last quarter, spanning from July 1st to September 30th, 2023. During these three months, Nintendo Switch has sold 2.94 million consoles worldwide, an impressive number considering the console has been with us for only 7 years in just 4 months.
Nintendo Switch has now sold a total of 132.46 million consoles since its launch. But how about its games? Nintendo has updated the list of the top 10 best-selling Nintendo Switch games since its release in early 2017. Here are the following:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 57.01 million
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons: 43.38 million
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 32.44 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: 31.15 million
- Super Mario Odyssey: 26.95 million
- Pokémon Sword and Shield: 26.02 million
- Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: 23.23 million
- Super Mario Party: 19.66 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: 19.50 million
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: 16.70 million
As observed, the list includes a game released in 2023, the sequel to Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom. The fact that the new Zelda game is on this list is a significant achievement for Nintendo, a testament to how well it has resonated with the audience.
It’s also worth noting that compared to last year, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have managed to sell over 23 million copies, an incredible number considering the release of Arceus in 2022.
As a side note, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Nintendo’s latest major success, doesn’t appear on the list as it was released in October. We’ll have to wait until February to find out the new results.
