This new option to search for messages within the application is part of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.16. In it, when you go to perform a search, a calendar icon will appear in the text bar, where you can click to set an exact date for your messages.
When you press the calendar button, a calendar will appear that allows you to directly choose the year, month, and day you want to track your messages. This way, you will reach the content you are looking for much faster if you remember when you sent or received the specific message.
