Good news for all WhatsApp users! Thanks to a new beta version provided to a select few users, we have learned that in upcoming updates, we will be able to use our email address to log in. Yes, you read that right: it will no longer be necessary to rely on a mobile phone mandatory (although there is a little trick involved, as we will explain now).
The information has been published, as it should be, by the folks at WaBetaInfo, who have provided details on how this new implementation works. To do this, you’ll need to go to your WhatsApp profile, select the account, and access the email option. Set it up without any issues, and it’s yours forever.
From that moment on, if you wanted to use WhatsApp on another device, all you would need to do is enter your email address, input the six-digit number received in your inbox, and start using it. That’s it. It’s that easy. However, as we mentioned before, there is a certain “catch” you should be aware of.
To use this method, it’s necessary to have associated a phone number beforehand. Therefore, this is the first thing we recommend doing when this option becomes available – configuring your number with your WhatsApp account. Once you do this on your primary device, everything will be set for the future: just enter your email, and you can use it on another device.
Now, when does this update arrive? As is usually the case, it is first available in beta phase for very few users. Once it has been thoroughly tested and is fully operational, the next step will be to roll it out for everyone progressively and based on the operating system. Considering the beta has just been released, our recommendation is not to expect it until late December or early 2024.
