Let’s start with Barbie, which arrived at Max almost five months after its theatrical release. The fantastic comedy starring Margot Robbie hit theaters on July 21, but didn’t arrive on streaming until December 15. This decision was probably due to its dazzling box office success (Barbie grossed a whopping $1.45 billion worldwide).
However, other Warner Bros. movies have joined the Max catalog much earlier. Aquaman 2 caused a sensation on Max just two months after its release on December 22nd (February 27th, to be exact). Wonka didn’t take its time either, as it landed on Max on March 8th, almost three months after its theatrical release.
And the latest box office success, Dune Part 2, arrived on the service on May 21, about 10 weeks after its acclaimed run in theaters where it has already grossed over $700 million.
With this scenario, the reality is that the movie can either arrive in August or already in November. We don’t know for sure.
