Certainly, there’s no better time to be a Marvel fan. After a successful decade of movies, Disney’s new subsidiary is fully leveraging on-demand series within Disney Plus.

Following ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ things have changed drastically both inside and outside the MCU. The Marvel universe has become bigger and more expansive than ever, leading to series like ‘She-Hulk,’ ‘Ms. Marvel,’ ‘WandaVision,’ and ‘Moon Knight.’ Now, Disney’s new venture focuses on adapting one of the most popular story arcs from the comics,Secret Invasion.’

Set right after the events of ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania,’ it will also tie into ‘The Marvels,’ one of Marvel’s upcoming releases. While we don’t yet know the exact impact the ‘Secret Invasion’ storyline will have within the MCU, we can at least take a look at the cast who will be leading the series. As is common in Disney productions, we’ll find a mix of familiar faces and new talents that will surely ring a bell. Remember, you can catch the series starting from June 21st on Disney Plus.

Samuel L. Jackson

As we already knew, Samuel L. Jackson returns to our screens once again to portray Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Let’s remember that the last time we saw him was during Tony Stark’s funeral (in Spider-Man: Far From Home, there was also a Skrull impersonating him).

Throughout the MCU, we’ve seen Fury transition from being optimistic in Captain Marvel to having a tougher and more calculating personality, as seen in the Avengers films. After some time away from Earth, Fury returns to combat the Skrull invasion.

When it comes to Samuel L. Jackson, he truly needs no introduction. The legendary actor has a long and illustrious career in Hollywood, and we’ve seen him in movies like Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park, and Django Unchained.

Cobie Smulders

What would Nick Fury be without Maria Hill? The former deputy director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is returning to work closely with Fury. The last time we saw her in the MCU was in Spider-Man: Far From Home, although it turned out to be a Skrull impersonating her.

Although she is well-known for her role as Maria Hill, it’s impossible not to associate her with Robin from How I Met Your Mother. We’ve also seen (and heard) her in Delivery Man and The Lego Movie.

Ben Mendelsohn

Ben Mendelsohn is the actor behind Talos, a Skrull considered an outcast by his own kind. Talos disguised himself as Nick Fury while Fury was away on vacation. After the battle in London that we witnessed in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Talos urged Fury to return to Earth as soon as possible.

Mendelsohn is an Australian actor, and we’ve seen him in films like The Dark Knight Rises, the series Bloodline, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke makes a grand debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as G’iah, the daughter of Talos (a character who previously appeared in Captain Marvel as a young child). In an interview with Vanity Fair, Emilia clarified that G’iah doesn’t exactly get along with humans, although she didn’t go into details about the exact reasons behind her strong hatred.

Emilia is certainly not a stranger to the spotlight. One of her most recognized roles is that of Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, but she has also been seen in films like Terminator Genisys and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Martin Freeman

After his last appearance in Wakanda Forever, Martin Freeman reprises his role as Everett Ross, a former CIA operative. We last saw him in Wakanda Forever, where he ended up becoming a fugitive.

In addition to Marvel, Freeman has been part of other major franchises, such as The Hobbit trilogy and the TV series Sherlock.
