Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has turned out to be an unparalleled success. The animated Spider-Man movie has surpassed its predecessor with such an incredible result in terms of criticism that it has even been listed as the best superhero movie of all time, surpassing The Dark Knight.
Its secret? Apparently, knowing how to perfectly mix the “fanservice” of bringing as many Spideys as possible with an emotional and interesting story. Undoubtedly, all this has made the mix perfect. But, among all the characters that appear in the film, there is one that surprised everyone: the one played by Donald Glover, AKA Childish Gambino in his musical facet.

Who is the villain played by Donald Glover?
Donald Glover appears when, at the base where all the Spider-Mans are, Miles Morales visits a place where the villains are locked up. He appears as one of these villains of the character… but who exactly is he? Here’s the answer.
Many of you may not remember, but in Spider-Man: Homecoming Glover himself appears for a moment as one of the first enemies Tom Holland’s Peter Parker faces. Here he reprises his role, but in an enhanced form and in a very special costume. The character’s name is Aaron Davis, the Prowler.

“His appearance was a personal approach to Donald, who we love and know well. We reached out and said, ‘We’ve thought of something and it’s very easy. You don’t have to commit to anything.’ Quickly, he was thrilled to be a part of it. He loved the first movie, and he has kids that he wanted to surprise,” Chris Miller explains about his appearance.
It was undoubtedly one of the most surprising moments of the film, and opens the door that Tom Holland’s Spidey may also appear in the film… something we imagine seeing Andrew Garfield’s Spidey but that may become bigger in the next installment: Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
