Just a week ago we had among us the release of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, one of the most important videogames of this March (and of what will be 2023). Despite the enormous reception it has received both by specialized critics (with an 81 out of 100 on Metacritic) and by users on consoles, the reception on PC is not being the same.
More than 13,000 reviews have been published on Steam at the moment… and the rating is not very good: barely 42% of the published reviews are positive, that is, more than half of them are negative or regular. In fact, the predominant note is a “Varied” on its official page. But why is there this discrepancy between the PC and console versions? Why does one have such a high rating and the other so low?
The main reason, according to published reviews, is the game’s performance. The game suffers from slowdowns, framerate drops and even crashes. In addition, there are very harsh complaints about the control of the game with keyboard and mouse, since they consider that it is not accessible for a title of this size.
Unfortunately for those of us who are PC gamers, optimization problems are becoming the predominant note in a large number of video games. It is no longer surprising to find all kinds of bugs, from crashes to black screens to poor performance, so we can only resign ourselves to the studio’s search for solutions.
In this particular case, Team Ninja released just a few hours ago a patch to fix bugs in the game. In fact, this update puts a lot of emphasis on correcting the mouse and keyboard controls, according to the published notes. Now we will have to wait for it to be fully fixed.
