The wait is over, WWDC 2023 already has an official date. On June 5 will begin the biggest Apple event of the year, which will last throughout the week. An event that promises to stand out from previous years and in which important developments are expected in terms of software and hardware.

Traditionally, the developer conference has focused on presenting new operating systems for Apple devices. This time, but we expect much more than this. According to rumors, Apple could present the new Reality Pro, the company’s extended reality glasses/helmet. And that’s not all, as we can’t rule out the arrival of the expected Mac Pro either, among other possible surprises.

A WWDC that will make history

After several developer conferences in virtual format due to the global situation, Apple is following the same path. This means that we will all be able to participate in the conference without the need to travel to San Jose to attend the Keynotes, workshops, sessions and conferences that are part of this special week. Thanks to the fact that all the content will be broadcast over the Internet, we will be able to participate from anywhere in the world, something we have to thank the virtual format that is combined with a small in-person part on the 5th for students and some developers to get the best of both worlds.

At this edition of WWDC, Apple will present the new versions of its operating systems: iOS 17 -of which we already have some concepts-, iPadOS 17, tvOS 17, watchOS 10 and macOS 14 -of which we still do not know its name-. All of them will bring new features and improvements in the user experience. News that, given that operating systems are developed at a very internal level within Apple, we do not know completely.

Meanwhile, it also seems that we will see hardware at this WWDC 2023. This is something that we cannot state with the same peace of mind as the operating systems we have just mentioned, but that rumors suggest quite strongly. Among the candidates we find a new Mac Pro, perhaps a new 15-inch MacBook Air and also the extended reality glasses that Tim Cook wants to launch this year.

All in all, WWDC 2023 promises to be a very interesting event where important software and hardware innovations will be presented. Although there are still several weeks to go, we can already mark the date on the calendar and be ready for the surprises that Apple has prepared for us.
