Yahoo! updated the look of its iconic homepage back in February of this year but only for the US. Today, the company has rolled out the new homepage globally in the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and South Africa. This is a good start but Yahoo! still has a ton of international markets to cover before the new homepage is truly global.
The new home page packs more content into the same amount of space while not becoming cluttered. All of Yahoo!’s popular sites like Yahoo! Sports and omg! have been redesigned with the same layout as well.
Yahoo! has put in the extra effort to make sure their new sites scale well on mobile devices too. The company has individual apps for some of its services like Yahoo! Mail and Weather. Still, this attention to detail should help Yahoo! move away from its reputation as a service for older users.
