Yangwang, the luxury sub-brand under BYD, is poised to launch its long-awaited U7 sedan in China on March 27, completing an ambitious initial trio of flagship models alongside the U8 SUV and U9 supercar.
The event will take place in Shenzen, where the brand’s headquarters is located, at 7:30 PM Beijing time (7:30 AM EDT). This launch promises to unveil not only the production version of the U7 but also confirm performance specifications and pricing details.
The U7 is set to be a technological marvel, boasting an impressive output of over 1,300 horsepower and a range exceeding 500 miles, marking its territory in the competitive luxury electric vehicle market.

Pricing is expected to start at RMB 1 million, approximately $138,000, with both Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) variants available to consumers.
Central to the U7’s design is the advanced DiSus-Z body control technology, an enhancement of Yangwang’s existing DiSus platform, which has already made waves for its innovative applications.
This system promises significant improvements in ride quality and vehicle stability, showcasing capabilities that allow it to maintain control even when subjected to severe conditions, such as being rear-ended at high speeds or sustaining a tire blowout at 160 km/h (99 mph).
Yangwang made headlines earlier this year with its strong debut at the Shanghai Auto Show, where it initially showcased the multi-functional U8 and the high-performance U9. The U7 now positions the brand to further solidify its reputation for groundbreaking technology and luxury features.
As we await the official specifications, Yangwang’s commitment to innovation in the automotive sector is becoming increasingly clear, and enthusiasts and industry experts alike are keen to learn more at the upcoming launch event.
