You can play Squid Game completely free (and without anything happening to you)
Netflix is not going to kill you to do marketing

Is Squid Game a terrible allegory about violence and social unrest in South Korea that highlights the sadism of the richest 1% towards the other 99% of society? That’s correct, but we all thought the same thing while watching it: “Hey, wouldn’t it be great to participate?” And the thing is, as deadly as the challenges are, they are also fun and, after all, you can win a lot of money. In the end, we all proved that the thesis of its creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, was true, much to his own despair.
No death or money!
Of course, Netflix has done everything it can to expand the Squid Game brand after turning it into a huge hit in 2021, from a very flashy reality show to merchandise, a second season, escape rooms, “real” experiences, and of course, a video game! And this is where we pause, because thanks to the spirit of these holidays (and the need for desperate marketing), the streamer will gift us their mobile game tomorrow. Hooray!
And, indeed, if you don’t have an account, you can also enjoy Squid Game: Unleashed. What is it about? Well, it’s a multiplayer battle royale that will feature games from the series and others based on classic children’s games. Only, indeed, whoever loses the game dies in the game (but not in real life, unless Netflix has spent too much money on an extremely aggressive marketing campaign).
Players who pre-register to get the game for free will have an exclusive skin, with which they can access legendary challenges like the transparent bridge, Red Light Green Light, and others. If you win, however, you won’t receive a penny, just the satisfaction of having achieved it. Oh! If you don’t want methadone until the real series arrives, you’ll have to wait: on the 26th, a second season will finally be available full of gore, plot twists, and surprises. Or so we hope, at least!
