Zendaya has become, on her own merit, one of the most sought-after actresses in all of Hollywood. The former Disney Channel star is leading franchises as acclaimed as Spider-Man or Dune, and her career keeps growing in all kinds of projects. However, she had not yet had the opportunity to star in many films as the sole star… until Challengers arrived.

Challengers is a romantic comedy with tennis as its main theme, directed by none other than Luca Guadagnino, the filmmaker behind Call me by your name and Suspiria. The film initially caught attention for its trailers, but now it has gained even more recognition thanks to its score on Rotten Tomatoes. Challengers has debuted with a 95% score, based on up to 87 reviews.

One of the best movies of the year?

The first reviews of Challengers say that it is “a well-acted drama with twists, turns, and provocations that lead to an unpredictable ending” and that “it is the cinematic equivalent of a match point. Easily, one of the best movies of the year!”. Without a doubt, Zendaya knows what she’s doing when she enters a project, and this time she has proven it once again. On April 26th, the audience will deliver the final verdict with its premiere.
