Ziggurat Interactive brings back one of the great classics of the Commodore 64

In an exciting return for retro video game fans, publisher Ziggurat Interactive has announced the release of Cosmi: Forbidden Forests, a collection of classics from the Commodore 64. This compilation includes the iconic Forbidden Forest, released in 1983, and its 1985 sequel, Beyond the Forbidden Forest, both titles that left an indelible mark on the history of video games. The release date is set for May 27 and will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

A classic of 8-bit PCs returns in its best version

One of the highlights of this collection is the remastered version of Forbidden Forest, which offers a renewed graphic style that emulates a medieval tapestry. Players will have the option to switch between the original and the modernized style, promising a unique and nostalgic visual experience. The new version not only enhances the graphics but also includes audio updates, making the experience even more immersive.

In addition to Forbidden Forests, the collection will include a variety of other classic titles such as Aztec Challenge, Caverns of Khafka, Seal, Delta Man, Chomp!, Chernobyl: Nuclear Power Plant Simulation, Spite & Malice, and Navcom 6: The Persian Gulf Defense. Each of these games retains its original graphic style and gameplay, but modern features have been added such as the option to rewind action and create save states, making the experience easier for new players.

The collection will also feature new box art, designed by renowned comic creators Ant Williams and Andy Lanning, along with digital comics and a gallery of manuals and promotional art from the 80s, providing fans with an additional appeal. With this release, Ziggurat Interactive not only revives these classics but also celebrates the rich history of personal computers in the realm of video games.
