"I think that the game 'I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream' is a great alternative to most PC games. It does not rely on jump scares and uses actual scary situations in order to scare you. It is a very cool twist."

"This game is awesome. It's like being in a horror movie that changes every time you experience it. There is a heavy sense of dread that, truth be told, made me stop every so often and readjust to reality. After I was done playing I just felt drained. Love it!!"

"From the screenshots of Doom it looks like it is a scary game but not the type of scary that makes you jump out of your skin. I really like the idea of the game Doom and the fact that it s a 3D game is even more appealing. However, I am a unfamiliar with the DOS Games Archive website which makes me hesitant to download from so I do not feel this is a strong solution. "

"I love PC horror games, but hate games with cheap jump scares. Amnesia: The Dark Descent is not like that. It relies more on environmental tension and horror. It's an insanely creepy game. I've been scared out of my mind several times. I don't want to spoil anything, but I it's got a great story, too. I highly recommend Amnesia if you love really scary games."

"I was excited to try this game, but ultimately I was disappointed by the experience. I love puzzles (and hate jump scares) and the graphics look really detailed, so I really hoped I would enjoy this. But it turns out there were too many bugs, and it crashes all the time. Plus it doesn't run on Windows 10, so it could really use an update - and some patches to fix the bugs. "

"This particular Resident Evil game is pretty good about not simply just using jump scares to startle the audience. It relies more on the atmosphere it creates through storytelling and design elements. The tension also is created in that you never know if you will have enough resources and that you don't know exactly what to expect next."
