"At first I was uncomfortable with Annabelle and how she handled everything in her life. Then Owen made things come together. This book carries with it so many valuable lessons. Intense and sweet. A tough combo to pull off, but Sarah Dessen has done it. And then some."

"I know the genre of this book. The summary has introduced me to the characters. I also know the plot. What I am missing is some detail. I can assume the characters are teenagers because it is young adult. What happens in their lives besides paranormal experience?"

""Splatterpunk" is an apt name for this book, and not necessarily in a good way. I had a hard time stomaching my way through this one, and wouldn't really recommend it. There's realism, but this goes too far."

"Definitely a disappointment. I though this book was going to be amazing, but after finishing it that's definitely not the word I would use to describe it. I didn't care for any of the characters because I didn't have the time to connect with any of them, the story just moved too fast to do so. I barely knew a thing about Clay when he stared a romantic relationship with the main character. And, for me, the ending was kind of predictable? For me, it didn't work. "

"This was a YA novel and did contain violence and abuse. I can't say it was the best because the topic was terrible. Not my genre and I would not let my kids read it. I did not like this book in any fashion so it should not be the best of anything in my opinion."

"I'm always looking for young adult novels that deal with the themes of violence and abuse. However, the story Impulse treats these themes as meaningless and provides no time in addressing these central concepts. Because this story only mentions these themes in passing, this novel is completely childish. "
