DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that India has the slowest and fastest trains? According to The Times in India, The New Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express is the fastest train in India. It runs at an average speed of 91 kmph and touches a speed of 150 kmph on the 195 km Delhi-Agra stretch. On the other hand, The Nilgiri Express is considered the slowest as it only runs at an average speed of 10 kmph. For years, trains have become a popular means of transportation since the 19th century. Today, 40% of world’s freight cargo is transported via trains, and that number continues to grow each year. Furthermore, statistical data by the website Statista presents that the length of the world’s railway network is expected to continue to expand; by 2020 it will cover some 1.38 million-kilometers worldwide. Trains have become a cheap way of traveling compared to airlines, train travel is somehow a way of exploration in a certain country, this is because some rail lines travel through areas that most car drivers normally do not get to see. It offers a much better and exciting scenery that is why it has become a reason why it is still popular up to this date.
