Free Medical Dictionary is divided into two areas - Medical Dictionary and Web Search. In the medical dictionary area, you can either search directly for medical terminology and symptoms in the search box, or browse through the alphabetized listings. The results are displayed in the main interface, and seem to be fairly accurate and easy to read.

The Free Medical Dictionary Web Search is just a link to Google. It doesn't have any navigation buttons, so it's really not a very comfortable way to browse terms. As so far as options go, Free Medical Dictionary auto-updates and has an option to stay on top (which, incidentally, it doesn't save after closing a session), but that's it.

Free Medical Dictionary does exactly what you'd expect. Some users might find its centralization useful and others will appreciate an offline dictionary. For most of us, however, it's an overly simple and featureless app that isn't really worth a download.

Other than centralization, Free Medical Dictionary hasn't really got much going for it.

eBay Desktop is the answer to this whish. This tool, which has been developed under the AIR platform, lets you review and check all the important information in the eBay website. You'll be able to search for special items, bid on any of them and also put the ones that interest you most in your watching list.

The program also features special services (RSS feed readers, outbid alerts and item reminders, among others) that enable you to be ahead of other bidders and have more chances to win auctions.

On the downside, I had problems when trying to list items in certain categories and also when displaying item pictures. Apparently, they were having technical difficulties at the eBay site so it's probably not the program's fault.

Though not always responding as it should, this eBay AIR-based gadget is the perfect companion for all eBay fans who spend too much time on the eBay website.

The program has two working modes, Automatic and Manual, which makes it suitable for both novice and advanced users. The first one guides you through the whole process in a step-by-step wizard, whereas the latter lets you do all the work by yourself. It may be more difficult, that's true, but it's also more precise.

Whatever working mode you choose, the idea is to select the eye area in your image (it works at its best with face close-ups) and overlay a fake eye that will follow your mouse while moving it around the screen. The final effect is really funny, but be aware that the animations created with EyeRoller can only be opened with this same program.

If you want to create a fun effect with your pictures in just a couple of minutes, you should definitely give EyeRoller a go.

The Recipe Cookbook interface is basic but functional, with a selection of search and organizing functions. It comes with over 2,000 recipes from varying sources, and, of course, you can add your own creations to the database using the Recipe Cookbook templates.

The recipes that Recipe Cookbook already stores are a real mix. Some (but not a significant number) are in Norwegian and recipe types range from cocktails and dips to breads and hotpots. Some recipes have notes attached, offering background or hints. You can also add your own notes.

Recipe Cookbook allows you to sort through the recipes by language, country of origin, category and ingredient, and you can modify existing recipes or delete ones you don't like. The program also provides links to a variety of cooking websites and gives you the opportunity to add new sites or modify existing ones. Finally, Recipe Cookbook lets you print and email recipes directly.

Unfortunately, Recipe Cookbook has plenty of faults. The interface is old fashioned, and its search functions, the most attractive feature of the program, are hard to control. Lots of the configuration settings seem to be modifiable, but unfortunately we just couldn't figure out how.

Despite this, Recipe Cookbook has a certain charm. It contains lots of recipes that you would be unlikely to find elsewhere and, even if there is no telling how good they will be, it would be fun to test them out.

Recipe Cookbook is eccentric but interesting cookbook software where the recipes alone merit a second look.

You won't notice any difference between Ogif's TalkAny and the original program - in fact, it just seems to have been repackaged in a new installer. The first thing you'll notice is that the program looks old-fashioned and comes with no configuration settings. It doesn't integrate into Windows, meaning that if you want to convert something from text into speech with Ogif's TalkAny, you'll have to manually type or paste it into the window.

Ogif's TalkAny gives you a selection of voice "personalities" to choose from, and you can also manually change the pitch and tone. There are also options to modify the pitch quality and vocal effect, and the program is capable of dealong with texts in both Spanish and English.

When TalkAny was first released back in 1995, there's no doubt it was an innovative and high-quality product. Looking at it now, however, it seems old-fashioned and considerably less attractive than the many other TTS options out there. Add that to the fact that Ogif's TalkAny is simply an old program in a new installer, and it becomes very clear that you should look elsewhere for your text to voice needs.

Ogif's TalkAny is the classic Talk It! repackaged. These days, however, it's best avoided.

This nice application displays the current weather in your location (just one single city at a time) in a widget-style window that stays on your Desktop. This window supports transparency effect and can be customized with skins and icon sets. Plus, the weather conditions are updated according to the lapse of time set in preferences.

Still, the best feature in Meteo Fusion is the weather forecast tool included in the program, which enables you to check general conditions, maximum and minimum temperatures, precipitation probability and other details for the next ten days.
