Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 is the latest incarnation of this all powerful web design program and doesn’t include big changes but rather many minor improvements that make your daily coding faster and easier. This new version of Adobe Dreamweaver includes new features such as Fluid Grid Layout, Improved FTP performance, Adobe Business Catalyst integration, Enhanced jQuery Mobile support, Updated PhoneGap support and more.

Like previous versions, Adobe Dreamweaver follows the WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) philosophy so you can see exactly what you're doing with every change in code. Alternatively, you can opt for a full code view or if you want your cake and eat it, see both at once in a split view. Inserting elements is a breeze offering you maximum flexibility to drag and drop or insert by code images, video, audio and more. You can easily shift and rearrange these elements until you're happy with the exact layout.

There are still a ton of ready made CSS and style sheets plus beginners are accommodated with step-by-step explanations of what CSS is and how it works including support prediction and suggestions of code for those working in Java and Ajax. Adobe Dreamweaver is of course seamlessly integrated with the rest of Creative Suite 5. You can easily import and export projects and content from the latest versions of Photoshop and Illustrator for example.

Unfortunately, there is no native support for emerging HTML5 and CSS3 standards in Dreamweaver CS6 but there are plugins that enable it to. Note that the entire CS5 suite works on both 32 and 64 bit Macs (except Premiere Pro and After Effects which only work on 64-bit Macs). However, those using 64 bit machines will notice considerable performance improvements.

Sandvox uses a WYSIWYG style interface that allows you to drag and drop elements into the site and there are more than 40 original and diverse designs to choose from.

Although Sandvox will feel a little childish for a professional web designer, there is a surprising number of advanced features under the hood which make it suitable for all levels. For instance, you can edit raw HTML to fine-tune the site to your liking and the Professional edition also lets you add e-commerce elements, Flash and Google Webmaster tools.

The designs are a bit limiting but, as mentioned above, you can change them to a large extent by recoding the HTML. Alternatively, you can purchase some third-party designs. However, the biggest drawback of Sandvox is when it comes to publishing to the web. It should be easy to connect to an FTP server but unfortunately Sandvox doesn't make it so despite the detailed guide on how to do so.

In addition, although the drag and drop interface is very easy to use, it can be very inflexible, pushing elements all over the place and becoming quite frustrating at times.

So for example, say you want to design an online store for a business idea you have. Axure RP is designed to help you create how you'd like it to look, collaborate with others on the design and basically design the kind of store and site you want.

Axure RP certainly not the simplest application to get to grips with but its not particularly complicated either and there's an extensive Help guide. However, overall it is more suitable for professionals in the web design industry.

For the technically minded, Azure RP Quickly creates wireframes that can be quickly developed from sketch to ready-for-development designs. You can annotate the wireframes and one useful bonus is that you can automatically generate Microsoft Word specifications.

You need a bit of a steady hand to get the most out of Azure RP - you can create boxes, grids, buttons and drag and drop elements but there are widgets available to help develop your projects. You can download these from the Axure RP website where you'll also find widgets that other users have uploaded. Finally, you can also upload your final creations to the Axure RP website for others to critic and comment on although this isn't a particularly secure way of working on a business plan!

Axure XP is a powerful tool for creating your perfect business website although its more suited to web design professionals than beginners.

OverSite helps you view and define your website or even an application's structure. It can create wireframe mockups of your pages, allow you to attach notes to your wireframes and of course, auto-generate a structure map of your site or application and finally, export your structures.

The easy-to-use structure editor supports drag-and-drop. To make things quicker, there's a Rapid Structure Creator to get your basic structures built instantly. The wireframe editor is very handy allowing you to add extra info such as screenshots and data to structures. Finally, you can generate sitemaps automatically and customize colors, fonts, and other elements. You can import pre-existing websites and then export them as folders or to HTML.

OverSite gives you an impressive amount of control over how you want your site structured. There's no hanging around after even major structural changes are made because they're instantly reflected in the OverSite graphical map. OverSite could do with being a little more user friendly for beginners - the language used in the Help section is clearly aimed with web masters in mind although it's not impossible for beginners to get to grips with.

OverSite is a quick and powerful for you to get an overall pictures of a site or application.

If you have some coding knowledge you can also work with the xhtml and css to tweak themes to your liking. The application also includes its very own open RapidWeaver Sandwich file format so you can work on your website outside of the program.
Publishing is really simple in RapidWeaver. Once your page is saved, just enter the login details for your FTP or . Mac account and pres publish.
Thanks to the preview button at the top left you can also check how your pages will look in a browser before publishing.
Although RapidWeaver is quite flexible in that you can work with the PHP, XHTML and CSS some more advanced users might find it too basic.

However, thanks to a clean interface, lots of themes and easy publishing, RapidWeaver makes it easy for anyone to have their own website online in minutes.
