After 10 years of waiting, Nintendo has heard our prayers: Rhythm Heaven is back

The latest Nintendo Direct has provided a lot of content, and it could be the last presentation focused on Switch games. The event announced exciting news, highlighting the return of the Rhythm Heaven series with a new title called Rhythm Heaven Groove. This return has been awaited for over a decade, as it is one of the most fun and original music games ever made.

I know this is love, a great hit

The first game in the series, Rhythm Tengoku, was released exclusively in Japan in 2006, generating considerable interest among Western fans despite its limited availability. Starting in 2008, with the arrival of the title Rhythm Heaven for Nintendo DS, the series began to gain international notoriety, later expanding to platforms such as Wii and 3DS. Each installment has maintained the essence of musical minigames in which players must help adorable characters keep the rhythm and overcome challenging sequences.

The wait has been long, as the last release, Megamix, came almost ten years ago. However, the excitement for the announcement of Rhythm Heaven Groove has overflowed on social media, with users expressing their joy with comments ranging from Finally, after 10 years we won! to It’s back, it’s back!, showing the impact this series has on its community of followers.

One aspect to consider is that, although the anticipation is intense, Rhythm Heaven Groove will not be released until 2026. Nevertheless, fans seem willing to wait another year to enjoy this new chapter, with the promise of a renewed experience and the hope that the series will continue to thrive in the future.
