This year, the global box office has a very clear name: Inside Out 2. The Pixar movie has grossed over 1.6 billion dollars, even surpassing the almighty Deadpool & Wolverine. That’s why Disney wanted to capitalize on this huge success, and the best way they’ve found to do so is with a spin-off series: Dream Productions.

In a mockumentary format, the plot follows two eccentric directors: Paula Persimmon (Paula Pell), a multi-award-winning blockbuster filmmaker, and Xeni (Richard Ayoade), an independent director who dreams of shining in the big leagues. Forced to collaborate, they must overcome their differences to create the perfect dream for Riley. Its trailer promises:
Dreams are dreams
Set in the middle of the events of the two Inside Out movies, the miniseries not only brings back iconic characters from the previous films but also introduces new concepts and dynamics. Unlike Inside Out 2, we won’t see Anxiety or the recent emotions here, which leaves the spotlight to this peculiar “dream production team.” The series will be available from December 11, 2024.
