Nintendo released its long-awaited Pokémon TCG Pocket last October 2024, a mobile adaptation of the popular collectible card game. Since its launch, it has captured the attention of Pokémon fans, achieving over 60 million downloads in a short period of time. This figure underscores the massive interest in the game, which has generated unprecedented excitement in the gaming community.
Recently, the Pokémon TCG Pocket team announced how the trading system within the game will work. However, the established rules have caused discontent among players. According to the official statement, trading will only be allowed between friends and will require that the exchanged cards be of the same rarity. Additionally, it is mentioned that to make trades, certain resources will need to be consumed, although details on what type of currency will be used or how much the exchange will cost have not yet been provided.
Limitations in Exchange Generate Concern Among the Community
The limitations imposed on the trading system have sparked criticism, as players believe these reduce their ability to complete collections. A user expressed concern by stating that the restrictions, such as the requirement to trade cards of only one star rarity, are disappointing and could hinder the gaming experience. As negative feedback grows, the Pokémon TCG Pocket team has responded by inviting players to try the trading functionality and share their opinions for future improvements.
On the other hand, it has been confirmed that only certain card sets, specifically from the Formidable Genes and The Singular Island packs, will be available for exchanges at the launch of this feature. However, the team assured that the selection of tradable cards will expand over time, which could offer more options for players in the future.
