Baldur’s Gate 3 is an excellent game, fascinating and surprisingly polished for a game of its length and depth. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its problems. It has bugs, it has failures, and many of the most serious aspects of it have been corrected quickly in Larian through hotfixes. Urgent patches to fix problems that need to be addressed as soon as possible. But they hadn’t released any big patches yet. Until now.
The first patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 has solved many problems in the game, in addition to modifying game balance elements. With this they have tried to make the game more like what they had in mind when making it, bearing in mind that no game can withstand the exposure of millions of people unscathed.
Perhaps the most shocking thing is that this patch addresses the staggering number of more than 1,000 bugs, glitches and glitches that could block our game. Something surprising, in part, because the game has not had a reputation in social networks at any time for having serious problems in that category, unlike the vast majority of racist releases. Another thing that is striking is that the changes are so substantial that they have reached the word limit of the patch notes. Literally. There is not enough text to cover all the changes they have made.
Otherwise, other changes they have made, as we have already pointed out, have more to do with balance or the gameplay experience itself. The amount of total character health has increased on Explorer difficulty, they’ve added better kissing animations for the smaller races, and bards have a lot more spells at their disposal. In addition, there is more gold in the game, in general, which means that if you felt that Faerûn was too poor, that’s fixed too.
With patch 2 and patch 3 on the horizon, Larian Studios aren’t going to stop working on Baldur’s Gate 3 anytime soon. And that’s a good thing. But if it’s already an excellent game right out of the box, and we gave you a guide to everything you need to know to play it without fear, we don’t want to imagine how amazing it will be after a couple more patches.
