Advanced Warfare takes places forty years in the future, which isn’t too far off. The game has to be futuristic but still grounded in reality. Sledgehammer consulted the US Army and Navy Seals to help with the story.

“Everything had to go through the filter of ‘Everything’s forty years in the future but it has to be real,'” says Sledgehammer Creative Director Bret Robbins.

The story of Advanced Warfare will focus around a single protagonist, which the developers hope will make the story more compelling.

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will be available on November 4th for Xbox 360/One, PlayStation 3/4, and PC.
