Volkswagen has unveiled its latest addition to the electric vehicle market, introducing the ID.EVERY1 as its new entry-level model.
Priced starting under $22,000 (approximately 20,000 euros), the ID.EVERY1 is set to launch in 2027 and will be the most affordable electric vehicle (EV) from the German automaker.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy that includes the launch of nine new models by 2027, establishing a renewed commitment to compact, cost-effective vehicles reminiscent of the iconic Beetle.
A GTI variant of the ID.2all also in the pipeline.
At a compact length of 3,880 mm, the ID.EVERY1 sits comfortably between the previous Volkswagen Up and the slightly larger ID.2all, which is expected to arrive next year with a starting price around 25,000 euros ($27,000).
Corporate figures have indicated that the ID.EVERY1 will feature a minimum WLTP range of 250 km (155 miles) on a full charge, making it a viable option for urban commuters.
Volkswagen’s tech development chief, Kai Grunitz, hinted at the possibility of an ID.1 GTI variant if customer demand supports such a model. He noted that the company plans to utilize modules from its MEB platform to potentially create a sportier version. This prospect adds a layer of excitement among enthusiasts, particularly with a GTI variant of the ID.2all also in the pipeline.
According to Thomas Shafer, CEO of Volkswagen, the ID.EVERY1 represents “the last piece of the puzzle” in the volume segment of the EV market. The company’s entry into the affordable electric vehicle segment highlights its dedication to meeting consumer needs while positioning itself firmly within the evolving automotive landscape.
As we await the production version in 2027, the anticipation surrounding this new model reflects a significant trend toward accessible electric mobility.
