Disney+ announces Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld. And there is only one month left until its premiere!

Disney+ has announced the release of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, a new animated project that will premiere on May 4, 2025, coinciding with Star Wars Day. This series is the third installment of an anthology of short films, which began in 2022 with Tales of the Jedi and continued in 2024 with Tales of the Empire. Unlike its predecessors, Tales of the Underworld will focus on the criminal underworld of the galaxy, featuring the iconic Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane as the main characters.

The most famous criminals of the saga return

Under the direction of Dave Filoni, known for his work in Star Wars animation, this new series will explore the story of Ventress and Bane after the Clone Wars and the fall of the Jedi Order in Order 66. The series will consist of six episodes that will showcase the fate of these characters in a world where morality is ambiguous and conflicts are not always divided into light and darkness.

Asajj Ventress, who returns after being considered dead, will wield a yellow lightsaber and will be involved in a battle with a mysterious enemy. Meanwhile, Cad Bane, the blue-skinned bounty hunter, will also confront his past in a new duel that promises to be worthy of a classic western. Both characters promise to bring a mix of action and emotional depth to the series.

The advancements in animation are evident, with notable improvements in textures and lighting, maintaining the aesthetic of The Clone Wars and Rebels. The original cast includes Nika Futterman and Corey Burton, who lend their voices to Ventress and Bane. This project is presented as a gift for avid fans of the Star Wars universe, ensuring that there will be many stories to tell in this distant galaxy.
