Dota 2 gets updated: this is how the heroes change with these two new mechanics

After months of waiting, we finally have with us the new patch 7.36 of Dota 2. It is a quite long and complete update that also introduces two new mechanics for each hero: Innate Abilities and Facets.

To begin with, Innate Abilities are abilities (redundancy intended) that, as described in the patch notes, “are present in the heroes throughout the game.” Each hero has a unique Innate Ability, which can be checked on the character’s own page. There are two types of Innate Abilities, those that grant a unique effect and those that change a hero’s ability to have five levels and gain a free skill point at level 1.

On the other hand, there are the Facets. This is a customization option that allows you to adapt a hero’s playstyle to a specific match or the player’s preferences. Each hero has at least two facets and each player can choose their preferred one during the planning phase, without being able to change it afterwards. Like the Innate Abilities, these can be seen on the hero’s page.
