Synopsis of Superman Legacy
There is still no confirmed plot for Superman Legacy. However, thanks to the chosen title by the director himself, we know that a significant part of its storyline will be based on the original comic written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu.
Published between 2003 and 2004, Superman Legacy tells the origins of Superman and the journey Clark Kent takes when he graduates and decides to embrace his legacy, becoming the hero that both Metropolis and the world need.
According to Peter Safran’s words, the film “focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. Superman represents truth, justice, and the American way. He is goodness in a world that thinks goodness is outdated. We want to move away from the good versus evil dynamic. And there are all kinds of people who are really, really almost saint-like. Superman is among them.”
Another comic that Gunn has drawn inspiration from for the film is All-Star Superman, a work by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely published between 2006 and 2008, which has been described as “the definitive Superman story.” In this comic, we once again witness the hero’s origins and his confrontation with Lex Luthor.
Cast of Superman Legacy
So far, we have only two confirmed actors who will appear in the Superman Legacy movie. However, they are the two main actors of the film, so we can imagine that the rest of the cast will revolve around them.
The first confirmed actor is none other than David Corenswet. The Hollywood and The Politician star has been chosen by James Gunn to portray Clark Kent/Superman. He seems like a perfect choice considering his physique and charisma. Given that he is only 29 years old, it’s clear that we will see a young version of the character.
