Salvador Dalí is one of the most important figures in world art and one of the greatest artistic references in the history of Spain. But he is also a controversial figure, full of nuances and controversies who grew up in one of the most complex periods of the country. Undoubtedly, his story is fascinating, and this is how Dalíland wants to portray it.

The film directed by filmmaker Mary Harron will be released on June 9 in British and American theaters, and although there is no date for its distribution in Spain it is expected to do so shortly after. The promotion of the film has already begun, and a trailer has been revealed in which we can see Ezra Miller and Ben Kingsley in the role of the painter.

An eventful debut

The film is not a new project that came out of nowhere, but has been in the works for years. Its initial release was to be in September 2022, and it was even to be screened at the closing of the Toronto Film Festival. However, the multiple controversies that have surrounded Ezra Miller caused its premiere to be cancelled.

Miller spent months going from altercation to altercation, being arrested in Hawaii and accused of manipulating underage girls. So much so that Warner had to delay the premiere of The Flash, which he stars in, and until the issue was clarified and he asked for a public apology, a new release date was not set.

Although it doesn’t look like Ezra Miller will have plenty of new projects, after his return in The Flash they wanted to take the opportunity to release the movie that had been delayed for so long. We are certainly looking forward to seeing what they have done with this Spanish pop icon of the twentieth century.
