Facebook dark mode is coming

It’s 1 a.m. and you’re in bed. Your phone gets a notification. It’s your friend and they just tagged you in a photo. As you unlock your phone to check the notification, you are blinded by the piercing white light from Facebook.
Well, it looks like your eyes are going to be saved as Facebook will soon have a dark mode.
This new feature was discovered by Jane Manchun Wong, a sleuth known for uncovering updates for apps like Facebook and Twitter.

As you can see in the tweet above, the text will be white on a black background. There is no official release date for dark mode. Wong discovered the update by looking at the code in the Android app.
