Google has its sights on Evernote as it launches the Keep app for Android and for the Google Drive site. The app requires users to be running Android 4.0 and higher.
The app is simple to use and is meant for quickly jotting down thoughts so you don’t forget them later. It’s super simple to create a list for things like groceries or a to-do list. Everything will be synced to the cloud and will be accessible in your Google Drive. While the app is only available for Android at the moment, it would only make sense for Google to bring it to iOS and Windows Phone as well.
Google is betting that many users will prefer to use a service that’s already integrated with Google’s services like Gmail. This early release integrates with Google’s other services, but to an extent. For example, users cannot attach any images from Google+ and there are no social sharing features whatsoever. Evernote may not have anything to worry about at the moment but Google Keep will only get better.
