Get ready, because on June 13th, next Tuesday, the Grand Theft Auto universe is gearing up to receive one of the biggest updates to date: GTA Online: San Andreas Mercenaries. But what lies behind one of the largest updates to date? We’ll share all the details in this article.

Time to fight the contractors

Regular GTA Online players are surely familiar with Merryweather Security. This private military company aims to eliminate competing mercenaries in southern San Andreas, including independent criminal professionals. And now, in this latest update, we enter the scene.

In the upcoming major update, we’ll be under the command of Charlie Reed, an aviation ace and expert aircraft mechanic. This character is assembling a squadron of aviators and mercenaries known as Los Santos Angels. The goal is to undertake new and lucrative private jobs, steal confidential data from server farms, plan heists, and unleash explosive payloads on high-value targets throughout the state. As players, it’s our turn to enlist in this campaign, naturally.

From here on, the Mammoth Avenger will transform into an enhanced aerial command center, featuring a new Operations Center and weapon upgrades. Additionally, there will be new adventures involving smuggling on the ground, with random opportunities to steal valuable money and merchandise from moving targets.

“Both novice and veteran smugglers can benefit from improvements to the Avenger and hangars, such as the ability to store and customize the Avenger in the hangar, or even store and access it without needing a hangar or facility,” states Rockstar Games. “Get ready: equip your allies, prepare your hangar, configure the Avenger, and have your weapons ready for the upcoming battle.”

Content to include

Although there is still much to be announced, this update includes, for now, new events, a new tactical submachine gun designed for shooting while driving, daily time trials, and more upcoming features.

Furthermore, the GTA Online community’s feedback has been taken into account, resulting in the following changes:

  • When calling Mors Mutual Insurance, you can now claim all destroyed vehicles at once.
  • An alternative option for sprinting (hold to sprint) will be added to the Settings menu.
  • Garage descriptions will have tags to easily locate favorite vehicles.
  • The Willard Eudora and Classique Broadway can be chosen for taxi jobs using taxi covers.
  • The creator will be updated to include more accessories and weather options, such as snow.

“Estas and many other improvements to the experience based on community feedback, such as easy access to snacks from the weapon wheel and the ability to start sell missions in private sessions, add to the numerous enhancements made since the launch of GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, including ray-tracing reflections and the introduction of the profession creator, which makes climbing the criminal ladder easier than ever before, the mobile arsenal, the multi-level 50-vehicle garage, the new license plate creator, taxi jobs, and much more,” the statement reads.

GTA Online: San Andreas Mercenaries will be available to all GTA Online players. Yes, this means that it is not limited to the new generation, but players on the previous generation will also enjoy the new features: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Rockstar Games has not provided an exact date, but they have mentioned that the update will be coming soon.
