Of course, the most fans of the magic saga are experiencing a new golden age. After the release of multiple video games (including Hogwarts Legacy) and movies, it seems that Warner Bros. Discovery is in negotiations to adapt the Harry Potter books as a series for HBO Max.
Yes, as you read: a Harry Potter reboot is coming. As we can read in EW (Entertainment Weekly), the streaming platform wants each book to be a season and thus be able to delve into all the details that the movies let slip. Unlike what happened with Howgarts Legacy, J.k. Rowling would be involved in the series and would make sure that the series would be true to the books.
David Zaslav, Executive Producer, Warner Bros. Discovery, has already stated in the past its “desire” to expand the Harry Potter universe. In the statements published on EW, they are currently focused on big movies and franchises already recognized by the public.
Zaslav confirms it like this: “Batman, Superman, Aquaman, if we can do something with J.k. in Harry Potter in the future, Lord of the Rings, what are we doing with Game of Thrones? What are we going to do with many of the big franchises that we have? We are focused on franchises.”
Fortunately (or unfortunately), we still have Harry Potter even in the soup. Given this, the new fiction of HBO Max faces a daunting task: to match some films that made many millennials continue to wait for their acceptance letter to Hogwarts today.
While the series arrives or not, you can always have a laugh with the alternative version of Harry Potter reimagined by Balenciaga:
