2023 has been one of the worst years on record for Marvel Studios. The company has released some of the worst box office results in its history —including the worst of all with The Marvels— and its series have also not performed as they should. But the worst of it all has come from Jonathan Majors. The actor who plays Kang, the main villain of their new phase, was first accused and then found guilty of gender violence. And, of course, he will not be able to play the character again.

This has generated a huge crisis in Marvel Studios, so they have no choice but to set aside Kang —instead of finding someone to take on his role— and, on the contrary, change their plans for the next two Avengers movies with another great enemy. In fact, it was mentioned at the time that they offered the role of Kang to John Boyega (Star Wars) and he rejected it, leaving the studio with few options.

Beyonder: the new great villain of Marvel

But Marvel may have finally found its new ace up its sleeve. After setting aside Kang or putting him on hold, Marvel Studios would have found its new villain in Beyonder. This is stated on Twitter by insider @MyTimeToShineHello, who claims to know the script for two of the studio’s upcoming movies: Avengers: Secret Wars and Captain America: Brave New World.

But who is Beyonder really? This character is a omnipotent cosmic being in the Marvel universe. Introduced in the Secret Wars saga in the 1980s, he is an entity of unlimited power that exists outside the multiverse. Originally from The Beyonder’s Battleworld, he becomes interested in human nature and decides to observe it.

In Secret Wars, he quickly becomes the main antagonist by transporting heroes and villains to a planet called Battleworld to witness their conflicts. His immense power and lack of moral understanding make him a chaotic force. Throughout the stories, his role has varied, but his nature remains mysterious and transcendent.
