We still have a few months left to continue the adventures of Norman Reedus directed by Hideo Kojima (that is, for Death Stranding 2), but Hideo Kojima, in his usual style, has already wanted to heat things up. After showing a bit more of its gameplay, the director has decided to earn some extra cash with his own clothing line. Well, more or less: he sells jackets based on the game for a modest price (at least if you have a well-padded wallet).

Kojima making a fortune

They are orange winter jackets, with a black option, that come with a hood (which you can remove) and the Drawbridge logo printed on it, and so many zippers that you’ll have space to store almost literally whatever you want in them in their seven pockets. You might think I’m trying to sell it to you, but that’s because you don’t yet know its price: 1540 euros or, in other words, 1700 dollars, for a jacket that seems very comfortable, yes, but… excessive by all means.

It is no less true that games, in general, have stepped up their game when it comes to offering expensive merchandise. For example, Elden Ring also offers a set for the same price, and Final Fantasy VII offered exclusive LEGO for 12,500 dollars. You might be thinking that in any store you will find clothes of the same quality for ten percent of the cost, but you will always have the nagging feeling of not having given (more) money to Kojima. It’s up to you.

And if you think this is a product for a select few, the truth is that all models have sold out except for sizes M and L in orange, so if you want to prove that you are the biggest fan of Death Stranding 2 and Kojima months before it comes out, this is your moment to do so. Yes, even if it rains later and you feel bad about taking it out in case it gets damaged.
