Life can be cyclical at times. If the beginning of 2023 left us with Hogwarts Legacy as the most successful video game of the first quarter (and of the entire year, as we’ll see later), the end of this 2023 once again repeats patterns. This time, Hogwarts Legacy returns to the number 1 spot on the UK sales chart, but it does so with the newly released version for Nintendo Switch.
Even though many didn’t expect this version to enjoy such success, the reality is that it hasn’t just entered the usual TOP 10 but has gone straight to the number one spot. In this manner, the Switch version surpasses games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, EA Sports FC 24 (FIFA 24), or even Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This speaks volumes about the success of the video game based on J.K. Rowling‘s novels’ universe. Here’s how the list stands:
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- EA Sports FC 24
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Super Mario Bros. wonder
- Super Mario RPG Remake
- Bluey: The Video Game
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- Mortal Kombat 1
The Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy will contribute to the game continuing to increase its impressive sales figures. Just the other day, Warner Bros commented that its production was the best-selling of the year, far surpassing competition like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, for instance.
The adaptation of the video game for Switch has enjoyed good popularity. While a poor port was expected, the reality is that the adaptation is quite decent. Though it doesn’t reach the quality standards of PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or PC, this port is more than acceptable and fulfills its purpose.
May the magic be with you.
