Honda and Acura Set to Access Tesla’s Supercharger Network This Spring

Honda and Acura announced this Thursday that their electric vehicles (EVs) will gain access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network starting this spring.

By utilizing adapters that connect Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) to their vehicles equipped with the Combined Charging System (CCS), Honda and Acura aim to simplify charging for their owners.

The adapters will be available for purchase from authorized dealerships in June, though pricing details are yet to be disclosed.

Tesla had previously rolled out Supercharger access for other non-Tesla brands

Currently, the only fully electric models from Honda and Acura available in the U.S. are the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX, both of which rely on General Motors’ architecture and manufacturing capabilities. While Tesla had previously rolled out Supercharger access for other non-Tesla brands, Honda’s approach will take a bit longer due to its independent handling of charging logistics.

The announcement comes at a time when more automakers are joining the Supercharger access trend, with brands like Mercedes-Benz and Kia recently gaining access.

Volkswagen is also set to follow later this summer, while manufacturers like BMW, Genesis, and Lucid are marked as forthcoming on Tesla’s website, although specific timelines have yet to be confirmed.

In addition to utilizing Tesla’s charging network, Honda is supporting Ionna’s new DC fast-charging network, which plans to deploy a targeted 30,000 chargers by 2030 and will feature both CCS and NACS connectors.

This dual charging support aligns with Honda’s plans to expand its in-house electric vehicle offerings; the Acura RSX compact SUV is expected to launch later this year, followed by Honda’s new 0 Series models debuting in 2026, which will feature native NACS ports.

As the EV landscape continues to evolve, Honda and Acura’s initiatives signal a commitment to providing comprehensive charging solutions for their expanding electric vehicle lineup.
