Comedic actors have been struggling with a great stigma since their training: it is extremely difficult for them to be taken seriously by the general public. Although they are usually the first to fill theaters and conquer the box office, they soon end up being typecast and have to fight tooth and nail to break free from that.

This has happened to great actors like Jim Carrey or Steve Carell, and it is also a heavy burden that Adam Sandler carries on his shoulders. But, despite his stigma, the Grown Ups actor has already proven to be a great performer in films like Uncut Gems. And now he has once again demonstrated his power with the trailer of Spaceman, his new movie for Netflix.

Adam Sandler in a state of grace

In Spaceman, Adam Sandler faces one of his most complex roles. He plays Jakub Procházka, an astronaut sent to the far reaches of the galaxy to collect a mysterious ancient dust. It is there that he discovers his life on Earth is falling apart, and he turns to the only voice that can help him try to put it back together. However, it turns out that this voice belongs to a creature from the beginning of time that lurks in the shadows of his spaceship.

The Netflix film will be presented at the Berlin Film Festival, and then it will be available on the streaming platform. The chosen day for this event is March 1st, when we will be able to see Sandler again in one of his most serious and reflective roles.

It is clear that with Spaceman, Leo’s actor wants to once again demonstrate what he is capable of in his greatest interpretive range. Certainly, the movie seems somewhat strange, but it could become the new Arrival or Ex Machina, so we will be attentive.
