Introducing the ZEEKR 9X: The Future of Level 3 Autonomous Vehicles

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer ZEEKR has made waves with the unveiling of its new autonomous driving technology, G-Pilot, during a live event in China.

This smart driving solution is set to enable Level 3 autonomous driving specifically within ZEEKR’s upcoming SUV model, the 9X, which will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show next month.

G-Pilot is designed to meet the diverse needs of drivers, offering varying levels of automation. Among its standout features is the General Automated Evasion System (G-AES), which empowers ZEEKR vehicles to navigate and avoid unexpected obstacles at speeds between 80 and 130 km/h (50 to 81 mph).

The 9X is not the only model in ZEEKR’s future

All of this is made possible by the advanced NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor chips, which boast an impressive computing capability of up to 1,400 TOPs.

The 9X is not the only model in ZEEKR’s future; the automaker plans to launch at least three additional EVs in 2025, codenamed ‘EX,’ ‘DX,’ and ‘CC.’ ZEEKR, which operates under the larger Geely umbrella, has begun delivering vehicles in Europe and is on track to ramp up production with these new offerings. The first model to feature the G-Pilot will be available to consumers in the latter half of 2025.

Additionally, ZEEKR has partnered with NVIDIA to implement cutting-edge technology into its vehicles, establishing itself as a pioneer in the EV industry.

While the G-Pilot’s advanced driving capabilities will start with the 9X, the company plans to implement similar features across its lineup through over-the-air updates in the future.

As ZEEKR enters what it calls the “L3 era,” it aims to cement its status as a key player in the autonomous vehicle market.
