iPhone 15 Release Delay: A Familiar Trend in Apple’s History
A delay about which we know very little.

We are all looking forward to seeing the new iPhone 15 this September, but it seems there might be a change of plans. Wamsi Mohan, a respected analyst from Bank of America, has suggested (via MacRumors) that the release of the iPhone 15 series could be delayed by “a few weeks.” This is something we have seen before and could potentially push the launch to October.
If the iPhone 15s are delayed is everything else delayed as well?
Mohan shared this prediction along with an explanation of the checks he conducted in Apple’s supply chain. According to his research, the launch could be postponed until the fourth quarter of the year, which spans from October to December. If that’s the case, the previously predicted revenue of $91.6 billion for the third quarter would not be met. Mohan’s revised figure amounts to $87.1 billion.
Mohan does not provide a specific reason for this alleged delay in the launch of the iPhone 15. Nor have we heard any information supporting these claims from other sources, so we will have to approach the information with some skepticism. What is true is that we have seen some delays in previous years.
We also do not know if, when talking about the iPhone 15, we are referring to all models, or perhaps Apple only needs to open the reservation period for a specific model later. If so, the best candidate would be the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which with camera changes, could open reservations later than usual. This is similar to what happened last year with the iPhone 14 Plus, which arrived one month after the rest of the lineup.
Another big question is what will happen with the rest of the launches. If there is indeed a significant delay in the unveiling date, it could push an event for the rumored Macs closer to the holiday season.
Indeed, for now, we will have to wait for a confirmation or denial and, above all, for Apple to announce its schedule. What is clear is that this year holds many surprises for us, and it’s hard to wait to see them unfold on the Apple Park stage. We’ll see how events unfold.
