iPhone 17 vs Google Pixel 10: This is what we expect

The next great smartphone rivalry is already heating up, even months before launch. Apple’s iPhone 17 and Google’s Pixel 10 are shaping up to be two of the most important flagships of 2025, each bringing new features to attract users looking for cutting-edge performance, design, and AI tools. While we wait for official announcements, leaks and rumors give us a clear idea of what to expect.

Design and display

The iPhone 17 will likely maintain its signature vertical camera layout, while the Pixel 10 is expected to stick with Google’s iconic horizontal camera bar. Screen sizes should remain unchanged — 6.1 inches for the iPhone and 6.3 inches for the Pixel — but Apple may finally bring adaptive refresh rate technology to its non-Pro models, matching the 120Hz performance already seen in the Pixel line.

Cameras

While Apple may play it safe with its rear camera hardware, the iPhone 17 is rumored to introduce a 24MP front camera, a notable jump from the 12MP sensor in previous models. Meanwhile, Google could shake things up by adding a telephoto lens to the Pixel 10, a first for its standard model. This would boost its appeal, especially in a market where few $799 phones offer optical zoom.

Performance and AI

The iPhone 17 is expected to use a new A19 chip, while the Pixel 10 will debut with the Tensor G5. Both chips are rumored to be built on 3nm process technology, promising better power efficiency and speed. Apple’s iOS 19 may enhance its new Apple Intelligence tools, but Google’s advantage in AI features remains strong.
