The wait is becoming very long for fans of From Software, but it could end sooner than we thought. Shadow of the Erdtree, the first expansion of the renowned game by Hidetaka Miyazaki, Elden Ring, was announced in February of last year, generating great anticipation among the fanbase.
However, true to their particular storytelling style in their video games, the information that the studio shared about the release was somewhat scarce (or rather non-existent).
Now, thanks to an update of the Steam database: SteamDB, the flame of hope burns brighter than ever. As discovered by Twitter user @Ziostorm1, a few days ago an “unknown application” was added to the DLC section of the Elden Ring Steam page, which can be seen through SteamDB.
For now, the only thing that is known for certain is that it is the latest DLC file for Elden Ring (the last addition was a content pack for those who pre-ordered the game in Europe), and there is no guarantee that it is actually Shadow of the Erdtree, but if we add this to what we already know, it would be almost confirmed.
And it was just a month ago that we echoed another tweet from Ziostorm that collected that the manufacturer Thrustmaster is about to launch a new limited edition controller based on Elden Ring as part of a collaboration with Bandai Namco, according to a document found on the online retailer’s website Data Blitz.
As we mentioned before, what makes this document extremely interesting is the mention of the release of the controller along with the expansion “Shadow of the Erdtree”, which will be released on the anniversary of the base game: February 25th.
In addition, the date would also coincide with the anniversary of the DLC announcement, so there would be too many coincidences together. Either way, we will have to be attentive to the official announcement from From Software. Let’s hope it’s very soon.
