While speculators are stuck with PlayStation 5 Pros in stores like Wallapop, Sony confirms that they are selling the console much better than expected. It’s not a bestseller, but they are selling quite well.

The Nintendo Switch OLED takes a distant second place this week, with 42,297 consoles sold. Not bad for a console that is already 7 years old and is on its way to the launch of the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
Scammers are going broke and Sony is making money
Despite having a significantly higher price than the basic PS5 console ($699), it seems that in Japan there is still a strong appetite for the mid-generation upgrade.
This is due, according to Sony, to the good results of the pre-orders of the PS5 Pro, which the president of the Sony group, Hiroki Totoki, described as “slightly higher” than those of the PS4 Pro. Additionally, Totoki said at the time that the high price of the PS5 Pro was not “negatively affecting the product’s sales plan.”
Although it is an expensive purchase and possibly for enthusiasts, the appeal of the PS5 Pro is evident. Its mission is to offer the best of both worlds in terms of fidelity and performance.
As a result, the enhanced PS5 Pro games can offer things like 4K resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second. Several games, such as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Stellar Blade have also been updated with Pro-exclusive performance modes.
The general public has not yet decided if the console will be successful in the long term. Certainly, we do not expect to see any discounts for the Pro during the upcoming Black Friday sales period, but we would definitely appreciate some tempting bundle.
