Is the Xbox 720 coming?! Of course not, but the fans want to believe

It seems that people are not satisfied with the fact that next year most of the attention will be focused on GTA 6 and the Nintendo Switch 2, and they want even more excitement in the world of video games. Let them announce things, and then we’ll see if they make sense and if we really want them. And of course, sometimes we cling to a burning nail just to have some thrills. Whether it’s the position of the moon in a Rockstar tweet, a cryptic message in a random Nintendo product, or why not, if they just announced a new console on Twitter out of the blue.

There are no consoles!

This is what happened to the Xbox channel in the UK, which, with the video of a green meteor entering the atmosphere, has hinted “Something small is coming…” and the hashtag “ScoreMoreWithXbox.” Normally, anyone would think it’s just a regular promotion they’re trying to hype up a bit, but on the Internet, we’re never completely satisfied.

There were those who took the opportunity to point out that they were announcing an Xbox portable, those who claimed this was a mini version of the original console, as they had already done with NES or PS1 and, of course, those who claimed to know firsthand that Microsoft was thus preparing the launch of… Xbox 720. If your heart skipped a beat at the mere idea, you might want to listen to the poor community manager, who explained shortly after, “People, please, click on the hashtag and take a look before guessing it’s the Xbox 720.”

And indeed: the hashtag ScoreMoreWithXbox leads to a giveaway of FC 25 where they will give away a controller and a personalized jersey. And it’s great, no doubt, but of course, the community, which was already expecting the surprise of the century, has been somewhat disappointed by the result. What’s the good part? That Xbox already knows there is some interest in a 720. Now they just need to design it, test it, make it, and await its -sure- success. What could go wrong?
